What we paint outside

  • Stucco and block homes, with stucco crack repair
  • Lap siding and fiber-cement siding
  • Trim, fascia and soffits
  • Porches, columns and railings
  • Lanais and screened pool enclosures
  • Garage doors and front doors
  • Metal roofs
  • Wood staining on decks, ceilings and columns

Before any paint goes on, we fix what's underneath. Soft wood gets replaced and gaps get sealed, so the new paint isn't hiding a problem that will show up again next season.

Painting for the Florida climate

Central Florida is hard on exterior paint. Strong UV fades color, afternoon storms soak wood trim, and humidity feeds mildew on shaded walls. A good repaint here comes down to prep:

  • Pressure wash to remove dirt, chalk and mildew
  • Replace rotted trim and siding instead of painting over it
  • Scrape, sand and prime bare spots
  • Caulk gaps around windows, doors and trim
  • Protect plants, walkways, windows and pool areas
  • Quality exterior paint. Derwin's go-to is Sherwin-Williams, and we'll use another brand if you prefer.

Exterior painting questions

Are estimates free?

Yes. We come out, look at the house and give you a written price before any work starts.

Do you repair wood rot before painting?

Yes. We replace soft trim, siding and sheathing first, then prime and paint so the repair blends into the finish.

Do I need to be home while you paint?

Not for exterior work. We'll walk the job with you at the start and at the end, and you can reach us by phone anytime.

Can you match my HOA or POA's approved colors?

Yes. Whether your community has a homeowners association (HOA) or a property owners association (POA), send us the approved color list or approval letter and we'll paint to match it. Get the color approval before work starts. We're happy to help with what the application needs.

What paint do you use?

Derwin's go-to is Sherwin-Williams. If you prefer another brand, or your HOA or POA specifies one, we'll use that instead.

When is the best time to paint outside in Orlando?

Paint can go on most of the year here. In summer we plan around afternoon storms and work mornings, so the paint has time to dry before the rain.
